Moving Forward

12 Then Isaac sowed in that land and received in the same year a hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. 13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: Genesis 26:12-13

The scripture here tells us that Isaac became a very great man. It wasn’t because he just prayed and did nothing, but he worked, and The Lord blessed him through his faithfulness. Because of God’s faithfulness he became great but didn’t stay great. If he would have stayed just great, he would never have reached his full potential. Because he moved forward, he became very great. This promise doesn’t just hold for Isaac, or for our Church, but for each of us as individuals, but it requires faith in God’s promise and faith in the process.

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, Philippians 3:13

The blessings don’t lay behind us, in the places we have been, or the ground which we have covered in the past. The blessings all lay before us in the land we have not yet covered, in the places we have not yet been, or in the things we have not yet done.

15 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward. 16 As for you, lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, and the sons of Israel shall go through the midst of the sea on dry land. Exodus 14:15-16

When the children of Israel moved forward, God parted the Red Sea for them to pass on dry ground.

  • obstacles stand in the way of moving forward
  • one step forward will cause God to do the miraculous
  • God requires obedience to move forward
  • delay does not always mean no

4 If we say, ‘We will enter the city,’ then the famine is in the city and we will die there; and if we sit here, we die also. Now therefore come and let us go over to the camp of the Arameans. If they spare us, we will live; and if they kill us, we will but die.” 5 They arose at twilight to go to the camp of the Arameans; when they came to the outskirts of the camp of the Arameans, behold, there was no one there. 6 For the Lord had caused the army of the Arameans to hear a sound of chariots and a sound of horses, even the sound of a great army, so that they said to one another, “Behold, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.” 7 Therefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents and their horses and their donkeys, even the camp just as it was, and fled for their life. 8 When these lepers came to the outskirts of the camp, they entered one tent and ate and drank, and carried from there silver and gold and clothes, and went and hid them; and they returned and entered another tent and carried from there also and went and hid them.
9 Then they said to one another, “We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, but we are keeping silent; if we wait until morning light, punishment will overtake us. Now therefore come, let us go and tell the king’s household.” 2 Kings 7:4-9

We can be satisfied in number, in finances, spiritually and never grow, but we are determined to move forward in 2022

  • satisfaction brings stagnation and death
  • moving forward brings life and blessing
  • it is time to move from membership to ministry
  • we need to move from religion to relationship
  • time to catch the vision to move forward

18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: Proverbs 29:18

Vision for moving forward!

  1. Jn. 3:16 Church

a place where all are welcome

2. building to seat 500-600 for multiple services, multi-purpose building, gym, large enough campus to grow and for events

3. each on reach one, commit to evangelize

4. commit to multiplication

It’s all about building THE kingdom not our kingdom.
